Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation

Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation, a non-profit organization, is in its fourth year of programming. SSLF offers peer-based grief support worldwide. Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation is the only non-profit organization hosting online and in-person programs to support anyone who has lost a partner: men and women of all ages, from all faiths and traditions, without regard for relationship status, sexual orientation or identification, or parenting status. Two of its many programs are Camp Widow and Widowed Village, an online community which was launched in 2011.

Widowed Village ~ is a free online community for anyone who’s lost a partner. Apply today to join our diverse community to share experiences, energy, ideas and hope in discussions, live chat 24/7, start your own blog, and share images of your journey or videos that inspire you. Also check out our list of more than 200 blogs by widowed people, clustered by year of loss. All ages, all stages: come to find a friend, stay to be a friend.

Camp Widow
Camp Widow™ is a weekend long gathering of widowed people from across the country, and around the world. We come together to create a community that understands the life altering experience of widowhood. Camp Widow™ provides practical tools, valuable resources, and peer-based encouragement for rebuilding your life in the aftermath of the death of a spouse…all in a fun, uplifting, laughter filled atmosphere. (Removed me from description… I did not create this event).

Camp Widow West 2012 will be held at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California from August 10-12, 2012. Camp Widow East will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC, in April of 2013. Details at CampWidow.org.
